Yesterday, we joined the #50501 protest at the Austin Capitol, and it was truly uplifting after the past three challenging weeks. The energy was incredible, with a diverse crowd holding signs for immigration reform, LGBTQ+ rights, women’s rights, and resistance against fascism. Many also voiced opposition to Elon’s actions. The unity was powerful, as people stood in solidarity for each other’s causes. Speakers encouraged protesters to greet one another, share hugs, and shake hands. People were out in the extreme freezing weather to protect their rights, resist the current tyrannous policies, call out mass deportations, raise voices for LGBTQ and transgender rights, and urge the government to stick to Project 25.
